Holiday Knights - Day 9

Another villian (Mr Freeze) favouring the all-female gang members in the later episodes of Batman: The Animated Series.

Holiday Knights - Day 8

One of the Penguin's henchwomen. A henchwench, if you will.

Holiday Knights - Day 7

Zatanna! The pose is a homage (or blatant ripoff) to the cool animated titles for Bewitched (the old TV show, not the 90s Irish girl band) so I can't take credit for that, but colouring was pretty fun.

Anyway, so behind! I've done loads of preperatory sketches and whatnot for different characters, but I wasn't very happy with 'em.

Holiday Knights - Day 4 (His Bad Side)

And the more interesting one to draw. Here's Two Face (in case you hadn't guessed).

Need to catch up!

Holiday Knights - Day 2

How could I possibly draw Harley without Ivy? I can't, so here you go!

Holiday Knights - Day 1

Advent drawings are back! And only a wee bit late.

I used to deliberately forget to open my advent calendar for a few days so I got a few more chocolates in one sitting. Missing the whole point of the advent calendar, you say? Yep. But I know for a fact I'm not the only one.

I decided that for this years theme... Batman! Starting with the Joker's moll, Harley Quinn. Only just noticed how that pool que handle probably isn't the best for a hammer... ah, well, I'll give her a more sturdy one for Christmas, if she's good. Oh wait...

And here's hoping, despite the minor delay, that I keep it up this year!

Cafe lady

Back in Hamilton for a while, so decided to play with the new laptop and scanner Dad just got. I hadn't scanned Mum's birthday present from last year, so thought I might as well. Good excuse to update the ol' blog while I'm at it. I find scanners always mess up marker colours to some extent, and I'm not sure how it might look on other screens...

P.S. Worth a fullview, methinks =)

Silly profiles

Been in a bit of an art rut tas of late. Pain in the arse, so it is. Doodled a few silly profiles while visiting Alford with Tom. I quite like them, they were easy to do. Weak-chinned people with big noses are fun to draw =)

Can't seem to draw anything else worth showing. Whinge whinge, moan moan.

Catwoman and Poison Ivy

Been on a massive Batman: The Animated Series kick lately. Which has also led to Justice League and Batman Beyond. And Arkham Asylum. Obsessed much?

I think I'll draw/post more Lonely Werewolf Girl drawings (written by Martin Millar, by-the-by)

This 'n' that

Geena Davis doodles (and Winona Ryder seems to have snuck in too)

A photo of a commision I drew at D-Con

Rachel drew a girl in a very cute outfit - I copied it (I did ask permission) :P

Fanart Friday - Hermione

Here's the three main stages of my drawing of Hermione for

Flipped it over and realised that her legs and face were wonky. I've heard of people flipping their drawings to check for mistakes for a while now, but only just gotten into the habit of doing it. Stupid really, it's incredibly useful and I wish I'd done it sooner!

I did have a go at some more shading, but realised that I liked it better like this. The background is my usual half-assed affair.

Chun-Li progression

And here's Chun-Li, near abouts start to finish! Her legs look very wonky to me, but I've been assured by others that it's not so noticable.

Kid Icarus start to finish

... more or less.

Well, long time no-post! Hopefully to mark the start of more regular posting, here is roughly my start to finish on Kid Icarus, which I made into a print for D-Con (Still some left!) It's missing a few exploratory scribbles, but here's the meat of the thing

Rough drawing in blue col-erase pencil. Not too happy with those feet...

Traced the rough with a violet col-erase with altered right foot
Coloured in mostly with Letraset markers and a touch of Crayola coloured pencils.
Add background and texture in photoshop, fiddle about with the colours, and hey presto!
